Eric Clapton has made music history – repeatedly – with unforgettable global hits such as “Tears in Heaven”, “Layla”, “Wonderful Tonight”, “Cocaine” and “Change the World”. His solo career is peppered with iconic albums, sold-out world tours and countless awards, including 18 Grammy Awards and three inductions into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame – as a solo artist and with The Yardbirds and Cream.
Born on 30 March 1945 in Surrey, England, Clapton has influenced generations of musicians. His virtuoso guitar playing, deep musical emotionality and stylistic diversity – from blues to rock to ballads – make him one of the greatest artists of all time.
